Yes, we bill insurance!
Breastfeeding help should be 100% covered as a part of the Affordable Care Act. New mamas shouldn't have to worry about submitting superbills and fighting with their insurance companies to get help feeding their babies. Let us take that off your to-do list, so you can focus on loving and feeding your baby.

In-Network, Out-of-Network, Pre-Approved,
Co-pays, & Deductibles?
What is a new mom to do?Â
Since 2018, we have worked diligently to be in-network with insurance companies, making it easier for new mothers to access our services. While things usually go smoothly, there are exceptions—grandfathered plans, tricky pre-existing condition clauses, and the dreaded clawbacks and audits. These hurdles are burdensome not just for new mamas but also for lactation consultants. Our focus should be on supporting moms and babies, not navigating bureaucratic red tape. To minimize financial risks and simplify the process, Lisa Bloom IBCLC has maintained in-network status with insurance companies and partnered with The Lactation Network and Wildflower Health when in-network is not an option. These partnerships allow us to dedicate more time to what truly matters: the well-being of mothers and their babies.
Ambetter
We are in-network with Ambetter! Book an appointment online and the billing will be taken care of by our office.

Cigna
We have partnered with Wildflower Health to accept Cigna plans. You will need to use their portal to get pre-approval before booking an appointment. (Don't worry, approval is usually quick!)

United Healthcare & UMR
We are in-network with United Healthcare! Book an appointment online and the billing will be taken care of by our office.
Blue Cross Blue Shield
Humana
We have partnered with The Lactation Network(TLN) to accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Humana. You will need to use the TLN portal to obtain pre-approval before booking an appointment. Approval can take up to 3 days and we do accept self-pay if you urgently need care during the approval process.

Tricare
We are a certified Tricare provider, which means we have satisfied the criteria set forth by Tricare to be accepted by them. We are not "in-network" at this time so you are responsible for paying for what they do not cover. Tricare will send payment directly to you, so we require payment at time of service.

My insurance is Tenncare, I heard that I can get lactation help with my insurance. Do you accept Tenncare?
-
As non-RN IBCLCs, we are not able to bill Tenncare for breastfeeding care. We recommend using the resources provided by WIC, or the Tennesee Breastfeeding Hotline. Also the best way to ensure coverage is to use your insurance website to find someone in-network.

Will you work with my health care share ministry?
-
If they accept electronic submission of claims, we are willing to submit claims on your behalf. If not, we will issue a superbill for you to submit.
-
We require payment at time of service.

-
Do you take credit cards?
-
Yes, we are set up for credit card processing through our secure patient portal. We also accept checks and cash. We can accept HSA cards as well.
-
-
Do you offer home visits?
-
At this time we are not offering home visits. We find that we can see more clients and offer a higher quality of service if moms are able to come to us.

I am not able to get to your office, may I see you by telehealth?
-
We would love to explore telehealth as an option for you. Telehealth visits may be covered by your insurance plan and are a great way to get care if you are not able to come to our location. We have a secure site that is easy to use from your phone or laptop. This option can be used as a bridge until you are able to travel to our location, or as a follow-up plan once care has been established.

If you have questions above and beyond the ones above, we would love to chat with you about it. Please text our office at (865) 344-1788.
